International Certificate of Competence


Going on holiday abroad and want to hire/charter a boat  or PWC (jetski) or take your own? This is the licence you need to either use your own boat/ PWC or rent a boat / PWC from a rental company in the Med, perfect for exploring your holiday destination. 

What vessel's can an I.C.C. be used for & how do I  get one?

Powerboats up to 10m:

This licence covers you for any powerboat up to 10m in length with any engine size / configuration.

 

What you need to get a Powerboat ICC:

  • Minimum Age: 16 years
  • RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certificate - See here OR
  • Complete a Powerboat ICC Direct Assessment - See below
  • Inland Waterways Endorsement (if required) - See here

PWC (jetski's):

 

This licence covers you to ride an PWC with any engine size.

What you need to get a PWC ICC:

  • Minimum Age: 16 years

powerboat I.C.C. Direct assessment:

The I.C.C. can be gained via a direct assessment (0.5 - 1 day or via  a 2 day RYA Powerboat Level 2 course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC). 

Pre-requisites:

This is one of the unique parts of Marine Education, we assess you on the powerboat that will prepare you for not just the 'now' but the  future of your boating!

Sadly the majority of people who attend Powerboat level 2 courses across the world do not take any further training, therefore ensuring that you are safe,  comfortable and confident to handle almost any type of powerboat is our aim, which is why we have opted for a larger sportsboat as our training vessel. During you course you will operate the boat under both single and twin engines to get used to the techniques and advantages of each and best prepare you for your future. In addition the 'larger than average' school boat size will prepare you for whatever your future holds whether that be purchase, renting/chartering or driving a friends boat without being intimated about the size or engine configuration.
